Yorkshire’s recommended harpist for 2011 (BRIDES MAGAZINE)
Ruby Paul is a classically trained contemporary harpist based in the North of England. She performs throughout the UK and was recently featured on BBC Look North.
In June 2010 she was the only English harpist to join ten others from all over the World at The International Harp Festival, Sentmenat, near Barcelona. Her beautiful voice, compared to Norah Jones and Karen Carpenter, is woven into some of her harp arrangements. She has become a renowned exponent of romantic songs with the harp, including her own compositions. Since graduating in music at York University, she has toured the country at intimate theatres, venues and festivals. Her three albums of original music include numerous award winning songs.
Ruby will be making her debut at the Edinburgh festival this August when she performs original solo harp pieces inspired by the wild flowers of the British Isles, please see the news page for more details. Whether for concerts or high profile events her stunning glossy black pedal harp is equally at home. She has a wide popular music repertoire including classical, indie and world music.
